God of the Sea, Earthquakes, and Horses
Poseidon
Roman: Neptune
With his mighty trident, Poseidon commands the waves, stirs the seas to fury, and creates new lands. He is a brother of Zeus and Hades. He is often depicted with a rugged beard, riding a chariot pulled by hippocampi (sea-horses). Sailors would pray to him for safe passage.
